We are pleased to announce the launch of our brand new website! This product is the result of a lot of work done by our management team over the past 6 or 8 months. Our goal with this new site is to provide our visitors with an easier way to learn about what the Meridian Healthcare Company does, why we do what we do, and how to get involved. We will be adding new research on a regular basis, and feature a newsletter four times per year that will present information on current “hot topics” related to in vitro diagnostics. We hope that you will enjoy browsing our new site, finding more options and information each time, and that it will be yet another tool for strengthening our business relations. GenBIo launches new, rapid testing product line, ImmunoFLOW Immunoassay.

GenBio has launched its new product line, ImmunoFLOW with the introduction of the ImmunoFLOW Mycoplasma IgM Test. Innominata dba GenBio has met the requirements of the in-vitro diagnostics directive; 98/79/EC and the respective Competent Authorities have been notified opening new international sales of the test through its distributors.

ImmunoFLOW is a flow-through, membrane-based rapid test. It is a rapid, simple immunoassay consisting of a test cassette and three reagents (patient diluent, wash and conjugate). The cassette membrane is spotted with three test dots, each containing an antigen (positive control, patient test 1, and patient test 2). Prediluted patient serum is applied to the opening on top of the cassette and allowed to flow through the paper matrix into the absorbing material inside usually in less than a minute. To assure assay specificity, a wash reagent is applied to chase through the serum through the membrane. Conjugate is dropped onto the cassette to visualize the reaction, followed by a final wash addition. The entire process only takes a few minutes and can be read immediately.

Specific patient serum antibodies will bind to the antigens spotted on the membrane and when specific patient antibodies are present; the conjugate binds causing a red/pink colored dot indicating the positive reaction.

The Mycoplasma IgM test is available now internationally.

ImmunoFLOW Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 test for the detection of genital herpes antibodies using type specific recombinant proteins is the second test in development and expected available in late 2013.

Meridian Healthcare Srl CEO, Sebastiano Cazzetta, would like to thank you Innominata dba GenBio President and CEO, Frederick Adler, for the great opportunity of an exclusive distributorship agreement for the whole Italian territory.
